Director of Philanthropy

Finding the right hospice is about finding the right people. As the Director of Philanthropy at Emmanuel Hospice, you will experience a rewarding work life while contributing to our team in a full time, salaried position.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support the mission and goals of Emmanuel Hospice. This role involves cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors, securing major gifts, overseeing fundraising events, and leading the engaged staff and volunteers

Responsibilities:

  • Develops annual fund development goals and budgets and implements strategies to meet the goals. Manages and implements day-to-day fund development activities to raise funds for the operations and programs of Emmanuel Hospice.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit major gift prospects, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Develop and execute a major gift program, including moves management and scheduling/attending meetings. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential donors through regular communication, personalized stewardship plans, and recognition programs.
  • Design donor-centric events supported by the team, including cornerstone annual fundraising event, donor receptions, and community engagement activities.
  • Manage all donor and community campaigns and appeals to ensure effective fundraising. Collaborates with appropriate staff to create content for donor communications, including appeals, newsletters, and social media campaigns.
  • Lead and coordinate the work of the Fund Development Committee of the Board. Work with the board of directors to enhance their fundraising capacity and involvement. Provide regular updates on fundraising activities and progress towards goals.
  • Works with appropriate staff members to facilitate Emmanuel Hospice’s patient wish program by coordinating in-kind and financial donations as needed.  .
  • Oversees the work of the grant writer. Develops the grant funding strategy with appropriate staff and contractors. Maintains relationships with foundation representatives. Works with appropriate staff to ensure compliance with grant requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of fund development required, previous experience with volunteer committees preferred.
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and leading successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and donor databases  required.

Extended Care RN – 7 on 7 off – Sign on bonus available!

As an Extended Care Registered Nurse (RN) at Emmanuel Hospice, you will serve alongside a dynamic team in a full-time (salaried) position.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule is 7 days on/7 days off with a combination of nights and weekends. A holiday rotation and other occasional staff meetings also required.
  • Triaging after hours needs of patients and families through both phone contact and visits on a rotating schedule of evenings/nights and on the weekends alongside a team of Registered Nurses (RN)s
  • Providing after hours crisis management for terminally ill patients and their families on an on-call basis during evenings and weekends
  • Conducting informational visits regarding hospice services and nursing admission assessments on a rotating schedule of evenings and weekends as required
  • Communicating effectively with other after hours hospice RNs and other staff to ensure coordinated care is provided.

Qualifications

  • Current registered nurse (RN) license required
  • Hospice, home care, emergency room or ICU experience preferred

HR Generalist

In this role, you will have the opportunity to flex your recruiting skills by managing all recruiting and onboarding processes, collaborate on many different aspects of HR, and bring your creativity to the table to continue to make Emmanuel Hospice a great place to work!

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and administers full-life cycle the recruiting from posting to offer process. Proactively seeks out diverse candidate pools in alignment with the Emmanuel Hospice DEI commitment.
  • Creates and shares insightful recruitment metrics to consistently improve the candidate experience.
  • Manages and administers onboarding process for new hires. Assures all compliance requirements are fulfilled while engaging with new hires to create a “wrinkle free” process that helps the candidate successfully transition into the team.
  • Completes credentialing packets and all updates for staff with medical access privileges.
  • Primary point of contact for day to day HR questions from staff, acting as the HR “customer service” champion.
  • Leads HR projects including open enrollment, ACA updates, ADP record management, team member survey’s, etc.
  • Manages and administers Leave of Absence processes, including coordinating FMLA, STD, and Workers Compensation Claims.
  • Maintains accurate and up to date employee files (paper and electronic) in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Responsible for ongoing and routine administrative tasks including: spreadsheet updates, sending meeting agenda’s, appointment scheduling for various employee and volunteer appointments, payroll processing, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related area required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience required, healthcare recruiting experience preferred.
  • Experience in HRIS/payroll software required; ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products required, experience with Apple products preferred.

RN Case Manager – Sign on Bonus Available!

As an RN Case Manager, you will experience a rewarding work life in a full time, salaried position.

Responsibilities

  • Providing holistic care to the dying and their loved ones in a versatile service area around Grand Rapids, MI.
  • Assessing the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of terminally-ill patients.
  • Assisting the patient and family with the Plan of Care to meet their needs and monitor goals, while suggesting appropriate, comprehensive and proactive interventions.
  • Working with community Physicians and the Hospice Medical Director to ensure that each patient has individualized medical care including medications, equipment, and supplies that work towards meeting patient and family goals.
  • Regularly administering care to a lower-than-average caseload.
  • Working creatively in unison with an Interdisciplinary Team, including the patient and their support system, in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of medical care.
  • Educating patients, families, caregivers, and community members about hospice services, and issues related to end of life.
  • Providing exemplary care and service to all those you encounter in your work.

Qualifications

  • Current RN degree required; hospice, home care, case management or acute care experience required.
  • The successful candidate will be skilled in physical, emotional and spiritual symptom management while working in conjunction with an IDT and functioning independently in the field.
  • This position requires flexibility in adapting to the changing needs of the patient and family with some nights, weekends, and holiday on-call responsibilities.

Social Worker

Mid-Shift CNA

As a Mid-Shift Hospice Aide (CNA) at Emmanuel Hospice, you will experience a rewarding work life while contributing to our team in a full time or part time hourly position.
Responsibilities
  • Working a full time schedule of Monday – Friday 1-9pm with a rotation of weekends and holidays OR a part time schedule of Monday – Friday 5-9pm with a rotation of weekends and holidays
  • Providing daily cares and comfort to the dying and their loved ones in homes and facilities within a 50-mile radius around Grand Rapids, MI.
  • Providing personal hands-on care and activities of daily living under the direction of a professional nurse.
  • Self-scheduling visits based on patient and family needs.
  • Working with a dynamic CNA team to ensure patient care is delivered consistently and excellently.
Qualifications
  • Certified as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) in the State of Michigan.
  • Must have a reliable vehicle to travel to patient visits.
  • Previous experience as a CNA required, Hospice or Home Care experience preferred.

Per Diem RN

As a Per Diem RN at Emmanuel Hospice, you will experience a rewarding work life while contributing to our team in a per diem, hourly position.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with providing coverage and support for RN Case Managers, Extended Care Nurses, and Admissions Nurses during periods of increased need and to cover time off for full-time staff.
  • Providing Primary and On-Call Services triaging needs of patients and families through both phone contact and visits in the evenings and on the weekend.
  • Providing routine and crisis management for terminally ill patients and their families.
  • Conducting informational visits regarding hospice services.
  • Completing admission assessments as requested.
  • Communicating effectively with other hospice staff to ensure coordinated care is provided.

Qualifications

  • Current RN degree required
  • Acute care experience required
  • Hospice, home care, emergency room or ICU experience preferred

Benefits

  • Pay ranging from $32 – $42 per hour depending on experience
